"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."

                                                                                        Frederick Douglass

This quote pretty much sums up my mission for this blog. So, let's show your kids how to build a solid personal foundation and raise strong children right from the start.

You see, I've been on a journey of personal development and self discovery for many, many years now. And, there have been some eye-opening moments along the way. I had to own the realization that I was a shy, quiet introvert who never thought I was good enough or smart enough. The fear of making a mistake or saying the wrong thing meant hiding for most of my life. How could I let anyone see that I wasn't perfect?

Living with these limiting beliefs stopped me in so many way from living the life I dreamed of as a kid. I wanted to be a doctor, but I didn't have the self-esteem nor the confidence to even apply to medical school. I couldn't take the risk- what if I didn't get in, what if I failed? But, what I did instead resulted in the biggest failure of my life! It caused me to spiral downward into a huge, dark hole that I couldn't find my way out of for many years. You can read more about me and my story here.

I knew I had to make changes, BIG CHANGES, if I ever wanted to climb out of the hole that kept me trapped and stuck for so long.

My Big A-HA Moment

After some crazy coincidences, I ended up back in school studying mind body medicine. While I was there, I had four of the best and worst, eye-opening years. Thankfully, I was surrounded by the best, supportive classmates and teachers who helped me dig deep to find the answers AND my way out of the hole.

My big a-ha moment came when I realized what I thought was a personal flaw was just a weak spot in my personal foundation. And that the weakness could be fixed using the mind body tools I was learning!!

During that experience, I learned about seven building blocks that need to be stacked strong in our personal foundation to lead happy and successful lives. You see, our experiences and our beliefs end up shaping our building blocks. When the building blocks are nurtured, they become strong and resilient. But when they aren't, they can form cracks and crumble with weakness. Not only did I learn about the building blocks, I also learned about the tools we can use to nurture, strengthen, and rebuild what has already cracked and crumbled.

I've been using these tools for years to strengthen my own building blocks. I still use them every day to manage stressful situations with ease and find peace. But, what if we can build solid, personal foundations and strong children right from the start? What if, as parents, we nurture their building blocks and teach them the tools for keeping them strong? The tools that will help your children get through their challenges and difficult moments and find peace, happiness, and success throughout their lives.

I'll Show You How

I'll use this blog to share with you, what I've learned about the building blocks and the tools that keep them strong, so that your kids don't end up in the deep, dark hole like I did. Together, we can build strong children- right from the start. Will you join me?
