Tiny Bubbles Guided Meditation for Kids

Tiny Bubbles is a guided meditation for kids using bubble imagery to help kids release any unwanted emotions that may be trapped inside of them.

We all gather after a long season of strenuous practices, spirit-filled evenings, and passionate games. Players, coaches, and families come together to celebrate the football season at our end of the season banquet. It's a time for reflection- the highs, the lows, the new friendships, and the lessons learned.

After dinner, each coach gets a chance to speak about their players and show off their accomplishments. It was during this part of the banquet that so many hearts were moved, including mine.

In a society where emotional displays are usually frowned upon, what happened at the banquet that night was both moving and refreshing. You see not just one, but TWO of the football coaches were brought to tears during their speeches.

Now, we typically think of coaches as big, tough athletic guys who rarely get emotional except for when they're jumping up and down on the sideline. But, on this night, we saw sentimental tears coming from the men that these young players had grown to admire and respect. They cried bittersweet tears as they shared accomplishments and highlights and then again as they shared their goodbyes.

It was powerful and moving to see grown men cry in front of a room filled with 200 people.

I want to thank those coaches for showing those young players that it's ok to get emotional and even cry when the emotions rise up.

Riding the Wave of Emotions

The word emotion comes from the Latin word emovere which is made up of two smaller words, e meaning "out" and movere which means "to move". You see, our emotions are meant to be felt and moved through our body and out. Not stuffed and kept bottled up inside.

The two football coaches did just that. The emotions and feelings started to stir inside, but they didn't stuff the feeling and hold it down. They didn't fight off the tears. No, instead they allowed what they were feeling to happen. The emotional energy rose up to their face and they released the energy with their words and their tears.

When we feel the energy of our emotions swirling around inside of us, the best thing we can do is to let it out. By blocking the expression of our emotions, we keep that energy inside and it turns into tension, and it brings us down.

But sometimes, for so many different reasons, our emotions do get stuck inside. So, what do we do then?

Well, I'm glad you asked. I created Tiny Bubbles Guided Meditation for Kids to help kids release any emotions that they may have "stuffed" inside.

Tiny Bubbles Guided Meditation for Kids

Tiny Bubbles Guided Meditation will help your child release any unwanted emotions that might be stuck inside. It could be anger, anxiety, fear, or sadness. It could also be unwanted thoughts that keep playing over in their mind.

I designed the meditation so your child can first connect with the unwanted emotion- what it is, where it's hiding out in the body. And then, using fizzy bubbles, they are led to trap the feelings inside the bubbles and let them rise up and out of their body. Gone for good. Last, your child will return to their day feeling peaceful and happy.

These happy, peaceful feelings are theirs to keep and feel for as long as they want.

  1. Hello,

I do you have any guided meditation for kindergarten? Right after recess! Want to bring them back down and ready to work.

    1. Hi Penny,
Most of my resources are good for preschool through second grade, so anything you find here will work for kindergarten, too. When you want kids to calm down, I feel it’s best to meet them where they are and ‘bring them down’ as you said rather than trying to get them from warp speed to stop in an instant. Instead of going straight to guided meditation, start with some yoga or movement that you can slow down gradually, and incorporate some deep breathing. Then, you can transition into a guided meditation. I will email you with some specific resources that I hope you find helpful.
