The “Rainbow Chalk Walk” is a grounding activity that’s fun and playful for kids. Now, I don’t mean grounding like being in trouble, but I mean feeling centered and balanced within your being. When you feel grounded, you are mentally focused, emotionally balanced, and feel strong and solid in your body.

Walking meditation is more than a leisurely walk down the street. Instead, there is a purpose and a focus to the walk. So, when the temperatures start getting warmer and spring is on the mind, a rainbow walk is the perfect way to go, and what preschooler doesn’t love a rainbow?! Let’s keep it fun and colorful and of course, mindful.

If you’ve been around, you know how much I love deep breathing. I practice it myself throughout the day, and I love teaching the skill to kids. It can invite calm instantly during a difficult moment, and a deep breathing practice can make difficult moments less frequent and less intense.
