Description
“Pebble Meditation” was created by Thich Nhat Hanh to teach kids about abstract qualities like love and freedom, by attaching them to real and familiar objects. Each of four pebbles represents an object and its qualities. When we practice “Pebble Meditation” these qualities grow stronger within us. Here’s what’s included:
CIRCLE TIME– Introduction, discussion, and read aloud
MINDFUL MOVEMENT- Dice Game (kids love to roll the dice!)
GUIDED STORY- “Pebble Meditation” and discussion questions
CREATIVE PROJECT– Picture pebbles and pebble boxes (decorate your own pebbles and storage box)
BONUS– three more versions of “Pebble Meditation” to try and a template to customize your own version
The activities in this lesson plan will enrich your experience with “Pebble Meditation” and provide the opportunity for finding more meaning and insight.
